Sick Just Got Real : Be Ready with Infants’ and Children’s Advil, Children’s Robitussin & Children’s Dimetapp & #Giveaway

sick-just-got-realMy family and I have taken ill numerous times this season and I’ve very much learned how important it is to be prepared with the proper medications in the event one of my girls gets sick. When it comes on it comes on fast and it’s important to be prepared.

Target has a great selection of medicines to take on the ickiest of symptoms like Children’s Advil®, Children’s Robitussin®, and/or Children’s Dimetapp®.

  • Infants’ and Children’s Advil® provide unsurpassed fever and pain relief(1) , and contain ibuprofen, the medicine pediatricians use most for their own kids’ fevers(2) (for ages 6 months -11 years)
  • Children’s Robitussin® provides soothing action and cough control with some formulations lasting up to 8 hours (for ages 6-12 years)
  • Children’s Dimetapp® provides great-tasting cold-fighting power and is the #1 pharmacist recommended brand for children’s cough & cold symptoms(3) (for ages 6+)

We’ve had to tap into our arsenal of medicines numerous times this late winter and spring when Sick just got real for my family.

One of the main things we’ve been battling are coughs and runny noses. So we’ve been using a humidifier, washing our hands a lot and giving the girls. One of the things that always happens when they are sick are loads of tissues scattered around on the couch, they are tired and sick and don’t get up to throw each tissue away. It’s messy and gross so I loved this little DIY hack for a Sneeze and Stow Tissue box. It was simple and worked great, the girls thought it was neat too so they did end up putting them to use saving a gross boogery mess from being strewn all over the couch.

Children’s Dimetapp worked great to help ease their cold symptoms and when the fevers and sore throats hit we gave them the dose of Infants’ and Children’s Advil. They both have great flavors that the girls like so it wasn’t an epic fight to try and get them to take it like some other medicines we’ve used.

I have been sick for over a week. It doesn’t seem like much is helping. I do use Emergen C when I am sick though. It is supposed to help.

Take a deep breath, realize that all your plans for the day are going out the window, and focus on staying calm and giving extra care to your sick ones. Give yourself a pass on all the housework, and eat extra chocolate!

One of my tips for sick days is allow the child to at least have their choice of tv programs/movies and let them choose what they want to eat so that they are more likely to lay still and at least intake some liquids and food.
