Our Experience at Universal Studios Orlando with a Toddler
On our recent vacation we were lucky enough to visit Universal Studios. We were all super excited to visit and check out all that fun to be had!
We started our adventure at Islands of Adventure and made our way through Marvel Superhero Island, as we made our way through the Marvel gang came by on some cool motorcycles with Spiderman leading the way. It was super cool and Pinky loved it! There wasn’t any rides that Pinky was tall enough for so we made our way through this area observing the cool shops and watching The Incredible Hulk Coaster make its way around. We then entered Toon Lagoon and took advantage of some neat photo ops There are some cool rides here but Pinky is still 6 inches too short to ride yet. We walked through Jurassic Park through the big gates and looked at the dinosaurs and Jeeps along the way. There was a ride that Pinky was tall enough called the Pteranodon Flyers, but she was a bit scared of them and didn’t want to go, so we just enjoyed the cool scenery together instead. Then we came upon The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! I was super excited to visit this new area in the theme park and see Hogwarts! Pinky was even tall enough to ride the Flight of the Hippogriff coaster! This was her first coaster ride and while she was a bit freaked out after her ride it wasn’t long before she was asking to go again! We loved walking thru The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it really feels like you stepped into a Harry Potter movie! Even the carts on the coaster Pinky rode were made to look like basket weave. The whole place was incredibly cool! Not a single detail went undone. Next, we went to the area I knew would be perfect for Pinky – Suess Landing! When you enter this area it’s like stepping into the pages of a beloved Dr. Suess book. This was the perfect place for her and she got to ride pretty much all the rides except the Sky Suess Trolley Train which had a higher height limit of 40″. We rode One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and the Caro-Suess-el and The Cat in the Hat ride. This was by far our favorite place in the park! We even stopped to eat some lunch here at Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous. It was so neat in this restaurant, with Suess characters moving all around the big top and the Sky Suess Trolley even comes thru! After all the rides Pinky got her face painted
Then it was time to go to the hotel for a little nap time before going to see Blue Man Group! (more on this later) We had so much fun at Universal Studios Island’s of Adventure that by the time we looked at the clock it was too late for Universal Studio’s and they were about to have their Halloween Horror Nights, not something my little one’s would enjoy BUT if you do visit Universal Studios there is plenty of fun rides or the tots like Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, E.T. Adventure, Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster plus the Curious George Goes To Town and Fievel’s Playland play areas. My family had a great time at Universal’s Studios Islands of Adventure. I was happy with all the rides and activities there were for the younger toddler crowd. It’s also great that you get two parks in one! If you have an infant like us they also have a child-swap program so that one parent can ride with the child and then the other can switch and ride with the child the next ride. We used this wonderful perk on all the rides and it was super convenient! If you have toddlers I would definitely recommend visiting Universal Studios and Universal Island’s of Adventure. Both parks have lots of fun activities and rides for them to enjoy! Check it out and start planning your trip today! I was provided with media passes to Universal Orlando Resort in exchange for sharing my thoughts. I received no monetary compensation and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
