I LOVE My Maytag Bravos XL High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer And Dryer!

MaytagMy older Maytag washer and dryer got the job done, but they weren’t very efficient and quite loud. A batch of clothes would take over 70 minutes to dry! I know that technology has come a long way since we first got them over 5 years ago and was waiting for the first chance we had to replace them with a newer energy efficient set.

I'm a Maytag Laundry Mom!

I was super excited to be accepted to be a Maytag Laundry Mom and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Our old dryer was starting to take even longer to dry clothes and especially a load of towels! I remember the Maytag commercials from when I was a child of the Maytag repairman being so bored because no one needed repairs on their Maytag appliances. I love the Maytag brand and their 100 years of dependable appliances has really stood true for us. It’s so important for us to be able to depend on our washer and dryer with our fast paced life to ensure our clothes are clean and stain free.

I’ve never been a fan of laundry, to be honest it is probably my least favorite household chore of all! But, I am quite surprised by how much easier laundry has become with my Bravos XL Washer and Dryer. I LOVE that I can do MUCH larger loads and that has proven to be a big time saver for me.

Maytag Bravos XL Review

Our old washer and dryer were standard older models that didn’t have all the bells and whistles that our new Bravos XL washer and dryer have.

Maytag Bravos XL washer reviewThe washer has 13 specialty cycles and at first all the buttons were overwhelming but once I sat back and read the manual it clicked for me and it has been a breeze since. It has made doing laundry easier for me and takes the guesswork out of trying to guess what the proper settings would be for different loads of laundry. The washer has a huge capacity so I can do much larger wash loads and it sets the water level by detecting the amount of laundry so that your not wasting any water.

Maytag Bravos XL washer has tons of space

I really love the Powerwash Cycle – Maytag Bravos XL washer gives the best cleaning in the industry and it has an Allergen cycle that eliminates 95 percent of common household allergens. This is super important to me because my husband suffers from asthma and allergies and I have allergies as well so it’s great to know that I’m able to help rid of those asthma triggers and common allergens from our clothing.

In addition to doing a wonderful job cleaning our clothes they are also so quiet. The see thru top on the washer and front of the dryer is really neat and lets you watch your clothes while they are cleaned (I’ve always wanted that!). The lock lid feature is really nice too because it keeps the lid locked while it’s running and when it’s done it unlocks and you can open it. The lid also doesn’t slam down either, if you let go it will slowly and gently close on its own.

The dryer is wonderful too! It’s just as roomy and lets me dry large loads of laundry – our king size duvet even fits in it, which means no more having to take it to the dry cleaners! It’s very easy to operate just turn it on, choose your settings and press start. It’s also so much faster at drying our laundry than our old dryer and that means I can get more laundry done in a day!

Maytag Bravos XL dryer tons of space

I’m beyond thrilled to have a dependable and efficient washer and dryer. With a toddler and one on the way time can be hard to come by but the Bravos XL have truly saved me a lot of time doing laundry. Which means, more family time and that is the most important thing of all!

I LOVE all the features of the Bravos XL but my favorites are how easy they are with the preset buttons and of course the allergen cycle for our allergy and the hubby’s asthma. What would your favorite feature be? Tell me!

I wrote this post participating in an Maytag Moms Dependable Laundry Ambassador program by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Maytag. I was provided with the Maytag washer and dryer set to facilitate my post. All opinions are my very own.

The Front loads are awesome for short people. I use to struggle so much getting all the clothes out of the washer. Now it’s a breeze! Absolutely love my Maytags!

I like the allergen cycle feature. I have asthma & didn’t even know there were washers like this. My washer is making weird sounds and may go out soon, so I will keep this one in mind, thanks for the review.

I would love to try these. I love the control panels. I’m about due to replace mine any day now.

These are awesome! I have a fairly new front-load kind, but it’s so hard on the back trying to get anything in/out. I love that this is still a high efficiency set but is more in tune with the old top-loaders.

We just bought this new Bravos XL washer and my wife HATES it!! It doesn’t get out our dogs’ hair out of blankets and sheets and there isn’t anything on the Maytag web site that address’ this issue. She wants to take it back and get a model with an agitator in the washer. Any suggestions on how to get out the pet hair would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Brynn says:

Are you using the bulky setting for the blankets and sheet setting for the sheets? If they are flannel sheets I’d go with the bulky setting. Our dog sheds terribly and I’ve not run into an issue with the dog hair being on them after a wash. If I do notice a loose hairs in the washer after use I’ll use our dustbuster to vacuum it out so it doesn’t end up on another wash.

I have the bravos XL as well – after taking the front loader back –

        My thoughts and suggestions
        1. THe Normal Wash does not use enough water . I know people are going to try and tell me that is how it is suppose to work. But here is the truth – the “Normal” settings are the ones that are utilized to test qualify for federal guidelines – Hence in my opinion is the worst setting to use. Bulk works well –
        2. Suggestion – I think the entire machine works better with less effort no the machine if you toss in a bucket of water along with the clothes – It fools the sensor into thinking it has a bigger load – and washes and rinses well – and – Is easier on the clothes as well.

Depending on where you live water is more important the other areas – Up here in New England – we had 14 days of rain so we are not lacking in water – Plus with all those glaciers melting there should be plenty of water for everyone :)
