Hormel Cure 81 “Up the Steaks” Recipe Contest & “Ham-stakes” Sweepstakes

Growing up we’d have many ham dinners with scalloped potatoes. Ham was probably my least favorite dinner of all, I’d always be the last one at the table just eating it as slowly as possible delaying the inevitable.

Ham, while still not my favorite, has become a meal my family enjoys. Specifically, Pinky and Daddy Digger.

Hormel sent me some of their Cure 81 Ham Steaks to try. We used Hormel Cure 81 ham steaks to create this great recipe from Hormel –

Cure 81 Ham RecipeHam and Bacon Potato Wedges

2 HORMEL® CURE 81® Ham Steak original, cut into 1-inch-wide strips
1 (22-ounce) package frozen potato wedges
1 (16-ounce) package HORMEL® BLACK LABEL® Bacon, each strip cut in half
1/2 cup sweet chili sauce, divided
1/2 cup sour cream

Directions
Heat oven to 400°F. Grease baking sheet.
Place 1 strip ham on potato wedge. Wrap with half-slice bacon. Place on baking sheet. Repeat with remaining ham strips, potato wedges and bacon. Bake 25 minutes. Brush with 1/4 cup chili sauce. Bake 5 to 10 minutes longer or until potato wedges are golden.
In small bowl, combine remaining 1/4 cup chili sauce and sour cream; mix well. Serve with potato wedges.

These were so good! We had them as a little movie snack and the entire family really enjoyed them! This is also a great little appetizer for tailgating parties or getting together to watch the football game.
