Cosmetic Contact Lenses for Halloween Do’s & Dont’s #MC #Sponsored #Halloween

I wrote this review while participating in an Influencer campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. and received a promotional item from Mom Central to thank me for participating.

My eyesight is terrible, if I don’t have contacts in or my glasses on I’d say I’m pretty darn close to being considered legally blind. I normally wear contacts and have been since I was a teenager.

Wearing contacts is a big responsibility for a teenager because how you care for them and wearing the proper lenses is important. If you don’t you can cause permanent damage to your eyes.

I do my best to listen to my eye doctor and clean them properly and not wear them too long. I’ve been scolded by my optometrist on occasion for wearing my lenses for too long each day or (eek!) sleeping with them in (I wear Acuvue Oasys and they are so comfortable I sometimes forget they are in, whoopsie!)

Halloween is coming up again many want to kick their costume up a notch and get cosmetic lenses. I have one pair of red cosmetic lenses that I wore a few Halloweens ago.

This year before you decide to wear cosmetic lenses or allow your child to please consider this.

Contacts purchased over the counter without a proper fitting can cause a serious risk and/or permanent damage to the health of the eyes. So, if you are wanting to wear those awesome cosmetic lenses for Halloween be sure to see your optometrist and get the proper fit.

Contact-Care

The Do’s and Don’ts of Eye Care Safety:
Follow these tips to make sure that you are wearing and caring for your contact lenses safely and effectively.

DO:
• Wash and rinse your hands thoroughly with a mild soap and dry with a lint-free towel before handling your lenses
• Put in your contacts before you put on your makeup or any costume paint.
• Remove lenses immediately if you experience eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes, and redness of the eye or other problems and promptly contact your eye care professional
• Always remove, clean and disinfect your lenses according to the schedule recommended by your eye doctor

DON’T:
• Wear another person’s lenses
• Wear lenses longer than the time frame recommended by your eye doctor
• Rinse your lenses in water from the tap or expose them to any water—such as swimming or showering—while wearing them
• Use anything aside from recommended solution by your eye doctor, such as saliva, to lubricate your lenses

If you wear or are thinking about wearing contact lenses visit Acuvue and register for Acuminder to keep track of your individual contact lens replacement schedule with the ACUMINDER® Tool, a free service that sends an automatic reminder via email and/or cell phone text message on when to replace contact lenses, when to order new lenses and when to schedule an eye exam. Registration is free and open to all contact lens wearers.

Cool contacts, looks like Twilight vamps :) I’ve worn them once before and got them from a friend. I guess I won’t be doing that anymore, I didn’t realize the damage it could potentially cause!

Check out any site your children want to use before you let them sign up.
Many games that are for consoles have PC or other versions out there, so don’t limit yourself
to only console gaming. That should help you determine if the game is right for your
    child.
